Chinese Embassy to India and Related Institutions Donate Money to Disaster-Hit Areas in India

In a bid to help the Indian people fight against the disaster, Chinese Embassy to India launched an initiative to donate money for tsunami-hit areas in the country on the very first day of the New Year. All diplomats and working staffs at the embassy generously contributed their part. On the same day, Mr. Zheng Qingdian, charge d'affaires at the Chinese Embassy in India delivered a check of 1.08 million rupees to the administrator of disaster relief fund in India, donating money to disaster-hit areas in India on behalf of the Chinese Embassy. Chinese-funded businesses and institutions in India also organized a number of donations. TCL donated 1.2 million RMB yuan and additional medicine and materials worth 100 thousand RMB yuan. Huawei donated 1.2 million rupees and some materials. Chinese Consulate General in Bombay and Chinese news agencies in India also organized donation activities.
