Yu Zhengsheng Meets with Vice-President of Senate of Spain

On February 17, 2014, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Yu Zhengsheng met in Beijing with Vice-President Juan Jose Lucas of the Senate of Spain.

Yu Zhengsheng said that over the past 40 plus years since the establishment of the China-Spain diplomatic relationship, the bilateral relations have enjoyed good momentum of development. To push the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership to reach new stages unceasingly, both sides should look upon China-Spain relationship from a strategic and long-term perspective to enhance political mutual trust; should tap in-depth the economic and trade potential to expand mutually beneficial cooperation; should enrich cultural and people-to-people exchanges to strengthen popular support from both sides. The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference has established good cooperative relations with the Senate of Spain. Hope both sides will further strengthen exchanges at all levels, learn from each other's experiences and practices of their participation in the deliberation and administration of state affairs, increase mutual understanding, expand common ground, and play a constructive role in the development of bilateral relations.

Juan Jose Lucas said that the Spanish government and the Spanish people hold profound friendly feelings towards the Chinese people. The Spanish side is willing to further deepen bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields, on the basis of respecting each other's core interests and major concerns.
