Yang Jiechi Meets with Foreign Minister Sam Kutesa of Uganda

On March 19, 2014, State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with Ugandan Foreign Minister Sam Kutesa at Zhongnanhai. They exchanged views on China-Uganda relations and the situation in Africa.

Yang Jiechi said that China highly values the important role of Uganda in regional and international affairs and is willing to work with the Ugandan side, in line with the consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, to promote the in-depth development of China-Uganda cooperation in various fields.

Sam Kutesa spoke highly of Uganda-China relations and expressed his appreciation for the positive role China has played in maintaining regional peace and stability and in helping with the development of Africa.
